PV Building: ‘Sweet fruit’ at the beginning of the year

With solutions to promote production and business implemented synchronously and drastically, in the first 6 months of the year, the targets and plans set by the Petroleum Housing and Trading Joint Stock Company (PV Building) have all been achieved and exceeded.

Right from the beginning of 2017, PV Building has set a number of outstanding goals such as: Continuing to closely follow the direction of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group and Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Company Limited to effectively implement the roadmap to transform PV Building into a public company, depository, and listing on the stock exchange; improving the quality of the services the company is providing in the direction of increasing professionalism, taking quality as the top criterion; safe and effective production.

Accordingly, the PP plastic bag line for Dung Quat Oil Refinery has been maintained stably with increasingly improved quality, continuing to bring good profits to the company. The estimated output consumed in the first 6 months of the year of the company exceeded the plan by 19%. Besides, the PP resin trading activities of Dung Quat Oil Refinery are still the field with the highest revenue proportion in the company’s production and business activities, with consumption output reaching 141% of the plan.

Meanwhile, wooden pallet consumption in the first 6 months of the year reached 123% of the plan. In particular, the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) business, although this is a new field deployed since 2016 through the main supply from Dung Quat Oil Refinery, in the first 6 months of the year, LPG consumption output has increased sharply, bringing good revenue and profit to the company with consumption output reaching 250% of the plan. Mr. Tran Doan Thinh – Director of PV Building – said: In the first 6 months of the year, the company’s production and business targets all met and exceeded the plan. Specifically: Revenue reached 157.39%, after-tax profit exceeded 15.17% of the plan. This result was achieved partly due to the Dung Quat Oil Refinery conducting its third general maintenance, the logistics service sector was given priority to focus all resources along with the maintenance and repair of housing areas to serve the housing needs of all domestic and foreign contractors participating in the maintenance of the plant. Therefore, the revenue generated in June 2017 alone from this sector reached over 10 billion VND.

The field of packaging production and trading is increasingly developing

In addition, in the first 6 months of the year, the company has seriously implemented cost reduction work, bringing practical results. The management team is increasingly professional. The arrangement of personnel suitable for expertise has brought about increasingly high labor productivity. If in 2016, labor productivity calculated by consolidated revenue was estimated at 150.02 million VND/person/month, in the first 6 months of the year, this figure reached 151.92 million VND/person/month.

In particular, the training, coaching and professional development for staff and employees (CBCNV) is also of interest, “We are constantly improving human resource management such as training to improve professional skills for staff; supplementing personnel with management and operational capacity; improving professional qualifications of staff through short-term and long-term training programs related to areas such as: Training in salary and legal policies; LPG distribution; security; fire prevention and search and rescue, bidding… with 239 people trained in the first 6 months of the year. At the same time, the company continues to maintain and closely monitor the implementation of the Quality Management System as per ISO 9001:2008 standard” – Mr. Tran Doan Thinh said.

PV Building sets a goal for the last 6 months of the year: Continue to strictly control and inspect product quality at each stage and assign responsibility for product quality to each production department, in order to meet the maximum requirements for product quality and service for customers, create an incentive mechanism for employees to have initiatives to help reduce costs, bringing benefits to the company.
